Books: Christmas 2019

For anyone looking for some fun Christmas reads, below are a few books I like to keep on my shelf and re-read every holiday season. These are great for the holidays as you can start and stop pretty easily. Nothing required of the brain, except for holiday cheer!

I’ve also included a few cookbooks that have been perfect inspiration for this holiday season. They’re also, like, really pretty.

Have you read any of these before? I would love to know what you think!

The Noel Stranger – Richard Paul Evans

This is a newbie for me this year, and you’ll be smelling Christmas trees while reading this book. I recommend hot chocolate, a chunky blanket, and knee-high socks.

Twelve Days of Christmas – Debbie Macomber

Very meta, considering it’s about a woman who blogs.

Christmas Days: 12 Stories and 12 Feasts for 12 Days – Jeanette Winterson

This one is a great mix of spooky, funny, and traditional. There are 12 different stories that give you 12 wintery vacations in one book. #yesplease

Whiskey in a Teacup – Reese Witherspoon

Perfect for southerners who love sun tea and Reese. This is a great combination of stories, traditions, and recipes – but not in the obnoxious scroll-until-you-finally-get-to-the-recipe type. This year, I used her sun tea recipe and added a splash of pomegranate juice – perfect for holiday parties!

The Pie Project – Phoebe Wood & Kirsten Jenkins

Do I really need to explain this? Okay, here are just a few I have flagged.

Rhubarb, strawberry, balsamic & thyme pie

Pear, maple syrup, & brown butter pie w/ cinnamon spelt crust

Peach, white chocolate, and bourbon slab pie

Etc., Etc. Etc.

Magnolia Table – Joanna Gaines

This is the only cookbook I actually use as intended. Like, instead of Googling a recipe, I open this book. It’s weird, I know. I’m not very “farmhouse chic”, so I tend to stay away from all things Waco/Gaines/Silo-related, but there are SO many southern comfort recipes in this book that I couldn’t say no. For this holiday season, it gave me my bacon & gruyere drop biscuits that I took EVERYWHERE.

If you purchase any of these books from my page, I will receive a small payment from Amazon. This will be used to purchase more books to review. Thank you in advance!
